In all seriousness we put forth a good fight against quality competition and just didn’t score enough goals to get the job done. Colin was great in net and Craig held it down defensively however our shortfall came in the offensive side of the pitch as we were a bit hesitant in a format where shooting from your own goal is within reason.

I’m not quite sure where we ended up but of the 10 teams in our group Purley and Walcountain Blues faced off in the finals in a close match with Purley winning by a few goals. Matt Bagley of the Blues and Spencer tour player kept Walcountain close in the finals netting 4 goals in the second half but at the end Purley had too many handy players and whethered the Bagley storm despite drunken applause from the Spencer contingent.
