League: Spencer 3's 5 - 7 Brighton Panthers

It’s going to be all uphill for the 3’s during the second half of the season after defeat at the hands of the students from Brighton.

Confidence was high before the game as the Spencer 3’s had assembled a large squad ready for the final game of 2013. However the 1st quarter was a forgettable 20 minutes as neither team scored, and neither team looked like they could score.

It all changed in the 2nd quarter. Spencer saw no threat from Brighton and went far too conservative, allowing Brighton to pass the ball under no pressure. This allowed the two best players in purple to try some outside shots – which then started to find the back of the Spencer goal. As the Brighton goal tally increases, their confidence increased, and Spencer went more and more into their shells. The half finished 0-4 to Brighton.

Spencer’s second half performance was much better. Mike and Rob moved into attack, allowing those with slightly more legs to run midfield. The defence stepped up and got into the faces of Brighton. But alas Spencer did not have enough attacking quality today. Only teenager, Nathan, would class himself as a recognised attack player.

Oh to be able replay the 2nd quarter…
