League Week 24: Walcountian Blues 2's 6 - 10 Spencer 2's

Final league game for the Spencer 2nd team saw them remain unbeaten for the season with a well contested 10-6 win at Walcountian Blues 2’s.

It’s been a fantastic season in East Division One for the Spencer 2’s, with the only blip the draw at Buckhurst Hill – on a day with a bare bones squad comprising of four 3rd team players, so a superb result considering those circumstances.

Buckhurst Hill will now contest the play-off game against Bristol for the right to join the Premier Division next year, as the highest placed 1st team in the division. SEMLA rules do not allow two teams from the same club in the Premier Division. Thus Buckhurst Hill, who finished 3rd behind Spencer 2’s and Reading 2’s get this opportunity.

Relegated to East Division Two are Welwyn 2’s and Colchester, with Epsom and Northampton taking their place via promotion.
