It’s going to be a busy pre-season leading into the 2013/14 SEMLA league season that starts on Saturday 5th October 2013.
The action starts on Sunday 21st July with a series of 6 ‘open’ summer training sessions on Wandsworth Common, 11am – 1pm.
Intermingled with this are the two games versus the American Revolution touring team on the evenings of Monday 5th and Wednesday 7th August.
The 1st team have a pre-season game planned with Manchester WACS on Saturday 31st August, to be played in Nottingham, approximately halfway between the two clubs hence sharing the travel burden.
On Monday 2nd September, our ‘in-season’ Monday night training sessions begin. Practice is 7:30-9pm on the Spencer astro and will run through until December, then restart in January until the end of the season.
The 1st team travel to Belgium to compete in the Ken Galluccio Cup / European Club Championships in Ghent over the weekend 7/8th September.
Note. It’s looking like Spencer LC will not be entering a team into the annual Bath 8’s tournament this year.
Sat 14th Sept will be an all-squads training session, on King George’s Park (the 3rd team field). The coaches and captains will be looking at everyone with one eye on the opening games of the season.
Sat 21st is a pre-season friendly game vs Epsom on King George’s Park, starting at 2pm. This is intended for all 2nd or 3rd team squad players.
Both the 1st and 2nd team’s have flags R1 games on Sat 28th September – the first time we’ve started in September, ever! Players from the 3rd team squad not involved on that day have a weekend off.
