Spencer Results - 10th March

Just two games again this weekend with the firsts visiting Reading and the seconds travelling to East Grinstead for their flags semi-final showdown.

Reading 7 - 8 Spencer

Captain Resh gives us some info on the game:

We travelled with 12 men to a tough reading side hungry to prove they could compete!

We started the game strongly, going up 5-0. Reading then responded winning face offs and controlling the game.. they pulled back into the game and by half time the score was 6-2.

The remaining game was a defensive struggle with excellent midfield production from Tom carver and Paddy Atkinson for spencer. Defensively Roo was a standout performer.

We closed out the game 8-7 with a final shot from reading in the dying seconds going wide.

We will look to regroup, train hard and get ready to Welwyn this coming weekend

Man: Roo

East Grinstead 4 - 13 Spencer 2

East grinstead provided a good challenge for the undefeated 2s followed by great food in a warm pub with the Six Nations on a big screen.

Captain Sean Keane on the match:

This week we had a tough fixture against EG in the Flags Semi final. We knew they would have a stronger team than the previous game and this was obvious early in the game with each teams trading possessions. We used a solid performance from our entire defence and keeper (ex-EG Andy Price) to neutralise any threats they posed. This then allowed our attack to work into good sets with some great individual and team efforts. On to the final now where we look to keep the strong performances rolling!

Man: Shee, Dick: Price, Bag: Jude
